Lake Leelanau and Leelanau County are known regionally and nationally for their superb swimming, fishing, and water recreation. Sun Bear is located within a few miles of 7 wineries. Nearby Suttons Bay and the village of Lake Leelanau have grocery stores and quality restaurants.
Onsite we offer free use of a canoe and kayaks, along with a mooring and dock area for small water craft. The township boat launch (see photo below) a short mile away. Lake Leelanau's water is pristine and great to swim in. Hiking, running and biking is available, a short distance away on the Leelanau Trail.
